AlladinTeacher Introduction
Mrs. Boyd
This is my 16th year teacher at Excel Academy.  It has been a privilege to work in such a supportive and incredible community. I received my Bachelors in Music Education from Brigham Young University and completed my Masters at Kent State University where I graduated summa cum laude. I found my passion early in life with music and the performing arts and have continued to develop and enjoy these skills.  I have organized and participated in various choirs, orchestras, bands and benefit performances throughout my career. My performances have taken me throughout the United States and Europe.  I am also passionate about sharing the joy of music with my students. As a full time music teacher, I enjoy implementing proven methodologies in the classroom such as: Kodaly, Orff and Dalcroze for the total benefit of my students. I have written and presented music units at a locale and national level. I believe that music is a powerful and important part of education and developing the whole child.

I am married to my high school sweetheart and we are the proud parents of five sons and three adorable grandchildren. Other hobbies include; family history, cooking, scrapbooking, camping, and traveling.

"Show me the home wherein music dwells, and I shall show you a happy, peaceful, and contented home."  -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
