Homework Information

Homework: Daily homework includes practicing sight and spelling words, as well as reading with and to your child for 20 minutes. First grade math students will also have homework Monday-Thursday.

Spelling: Spelling lists will come home every week in Friday folders.  These are words that are part of our Reading Street curriculum.  Students will be tested on these words every Friday.

Sight Words: Individual sight word lists will be sent home every week in Friday Folders.  Please practice these lists with your student.  Sight word tests will be given every Thursday.

Math: Students will have math homework Monday-Thursday, unless we have a math test that day.  Just a reminder that first grade math students have homework Monday-Thursday, unless we have a math test.  Please read and check the homework with your child and return the folder each day. The first lessons of a unit are easier with it gradually getting more complex by the end of lesson 10. Math tests will cover the content students practiced both in class and on their homework. Fridays we will be spent focusing on fact practice. As the year progresses the students will be having timed fact tests on Fridays

Social Studies/Science: Students will have content tests at the end of most units. Review sheets will come home with students in Friday folders to study from.

School Wide Project: Our " Day of the Notables" project will be on October 31st.  Details will be discussed at our first Parent/Teacher conference.
