Dear Parents,
It has been an eventful week here in first grade.  The students really enjoyed learning about the three states of matter.  It sparked discussions both in the classroom and on the playground.  In fact, several of the students chose "matter" as a topic to write about in their daily journal.

We have been using our tablets daily in the classroom.  Thank you for sending them in charged and ready to go.  The students have been working on Raz Kids in the classroom.  It would be appreciated if with their tablet, you could send in a pair of headphones for your child to use.

Next week we begin our next science unit on Geology.  This is a very high interest unit for most first graders.  We will begin by  learning about the layers of the Earth.

Finally, I'm not sure if everyone is aware that the water fountains in the school have been shut down.  This makes having a water bottle at school so important.  We all need to stay hydrated.  Please remember to pack one with your student.

Have a great weekend !
Stay Healthy!

  • We have an afternoon snack time but it is short, so easy, quick, healthy snacks, and no colored drinks.
  • Watch the weather and come to school prepared.
  • Drop-off and Pick-up will get better once everyone understands the flow.
